Fall Break Family Trip

We decided to take a trip down to the Moab area for Fall Break this year.  It was kind of a last minute decision but we had the best time.  The weather was in the 50's but for hiking in Moab I couldn't think of a better temperature.

We got up early Thursday morning and drove straight to Arches National Park.  The shut down the entrance after so many people get in so we were happy we got in.  We've been there before but didn't hike Delicate Arch last time with the kids being so small so that was the main thing on our list.  The kids did great and loved seeing the famous arch.

After Arches we went over to Canyonlands and hiked to Mesa Arch and to see a big crater (or what they think was formed from a crater)

We drove to Cortez Colorado and stayed there for 2 nights.  Friday morning we got up and went to 4 corners.  The kids have been talking about this for a while now so they were pretty excited to be in 4 states at the same time.

That afternoon we went to Mesa Verde.  It was a long drive in to see some of the ancient homes but really cool to actually see them and learn how they lived here and thrived.  Very interesting.  The kids liked it but after seeing one or 2 of them they weren't that impressed after.

Saturday morning we drove home.  We stopped at an arch just south of Moab off the highway then decided to hike to Corona arch.  I had never done this hike and I think it ended up being our favorite hike of the trip.  Super fun and so cool when you get there to see how open this area was and the arch was huge!

Not a super long trip but we saw a lot and had such a fun time seeing things we had never seen before.
