Best 2 years!

It hasn't been the easiest 2 years of my life, but I can say that it's been the best 2 years of my life. Having Shane by my side these last 2 years has been more then a girl can ask for. It's hard to believe it's been 2 years and at the same time it's hard to believe it hasn't been more then 2 years.

Here's to 2 more and then 2 more and then 2 more....and on and on and on.

I love you! Happy Anniversary. Let's go celebrate.

Original Factory Settings

So I bought a new laptop this week! And I am ohhh sooo happy!!! My one and only computer that I've ever bought was back in 2001. Needless to say it was very old and was having A LOT of issues. One being that it doesn't have an integrated wireless card so half the time I wanted to get online it wouldn't connect for me. iTunes wouldn't work and when I wanted to update my iPhone, it crashed my phone (twice), making me restore my phone to the original factory settings (twice.) Just typing original factory settings puts a pit in my stomach again, and it's been almost a month since the last time it happened. Combine that with it just being old and slow and I just about all out refused to use it this last month.

So Shane found me a really good deal and I'm the proud owner of a new laptop. It's not top of the line by any means, but it's faster, new, and has enough memory to run the programs I need to.

Computing is feeling good again. Maybe I'll start blogging more...

Best Buddies

How many people can claim that they went to Prom with their husband?? Unless you were high school sweethearts, probably not many of you can. Well, a couple weeks ago, Shane and I went to Prom.

Ok so we didn't actually attend the Prom, but we volunteered at it for the Best Buddies organization. Best Buddies is an organization where children with developmental and intellectual disabilities get to have a 'best buddy' to go and do different activities with. This night was their prom and we were able to volunteer at it with Brigitte and Tyler and Lisa and Todd.

Shane and I were in charge of the Thank You table where anyone could come and color or write a thank you note to the many sponsors/organizers of the event. Brigitte, Lisa, and Todd helped with the photography line while Tyler went around and took some candid pictures.

It was a fun night watching all the kids having a good time, dancing, eating, and even doing the conga line in which Brigitte and I participated.

And what would a prom be without the infamous prom pictures.

My HAM Husband

So several, well really many, months ago, Shane was asked to be our ward communications specialist. What that really means is they wanted Shane to learn to operate a HAM radio. For those of you who don't know, every congregation in our church is supposed to have someone that can operate one and then if there is an emergency he can provide information about people in our neighborhood that might need help.

To me, a HAM radio is like a walkie talkie on steroids. I know it's more complicated then that and much more powerful (maybe also kind of like a CB radio) but that's how I see it.

Well in order to operate a HAM radio, you actually have to get a license and take a test. It's quite the little process to fulfill a church assignment! So Shane got down to business this last week and went and took the test. He even passed it the first time!

So now he 'gets' to participate in weekly drills with the church and Draper City. You can see how much fun he is having during his first drill this week. Let's just hope he never has to use it for a real emergency.
