1st Stitches in the Glover family

Well it was bound to happen one day.  Our first set of stitches in our family.  And it happened of all places..at church!

Shane had taken the girls to the bathroom before primary while I was in primary setting up.  When primary started and they still weren't there I walked around the corner to see if they were coming.  Aria saw me and yelled 'Mom' and started running down the hallway towards me.  Right as she got to the cultural hall doors, the door opened right into her.  It knocked her off her feet.  At first I thought she would just have a big goose egg.  Shane got to her first and picked her up and she laid her head down, as she lifted her head there was blood everywhere!  Down her face, all over her glasses, in her hair, down Shane's shirt.  It was so bad.  Luckily the man who opened the door had a bunch of Kleenex with him.

It was such a blessing as well that the other lady that stopped lived across the street from Jason Hancey in our ward, who is a plastic surgeon.  He had just left to drive a sick kid home and she was able to get ahold of him.  He came back to church, took a look at it and told Shane just to follow him to his office.  I'm so grateful he was able to help as we didn't have to take our chances with someone at Instacare.  And he did such an amazing job stitching her up.  It ended up that the door handle connected to her forehead and put a hole in head to the bone.  He had to stitch up the muscle and then she got 4 stitches on the outside.

Aria was seriously such a brave little girl.  She cried when it happened and then stopped and hasn't cried about it since.  Shane got her a sucker, they put some numbing cream on it and she sat so still the whole time just watching Paw Patrol on Shane's phone.  Even when she got them taken out she just sat there so still the entire time.  I am so proud of what a brave girl she is.

She still has a steri strip on the wound but Dr. Hancey said if the scar bothers us he can laser it for us.  So we'll see how it heals up before doing anything yet.

School Pictures

The girls had their pictures taken at pre-school this year.  They had a lady whose kids used to go to this pre-school come and do them.  I thought they turned out so cute, much cuter then I had expected.  And I love that they took some of them together as well.  I was so happy they could each name each kid in their class as well and now I can put faces with names!

Sleeping Outtakes

Ok so I know I'm obsessed with taking pictures of my kids sleeping.  However, while we were in Florida, I kind of went out of control.  The girls slept in the same bed each night and seriously every night as I would climb into the bed next to them I would look over and crack up at some of their sleep positions.  So I ended up taking pictures almost every night.  It's so funny how they can sleep like this.  I don't take nearly as many of Jaron but he sleeps in the exact same position every night...on his stomach with his arms wrapped around his Pluto and Rocky stuffed animals.

Orlando/Cocoa Beach Day 5, 6 and Home

The last few days in Orlando were so much fun.

Friday morning we woke up.  Siena and I headed over to The Waffle House for breakfast (Aria doesn't like waffles very much so the rest stayed and ate at the hotel.)  It was yummy as always.  As a side note we ate at our favorite Steak 'n Shake twice while we were there and I love that place.  The kids gobbled up all their food as well both times.

After lunch we packed up and headed out to Cocoa beach on the coast.  It's only a 45 minutes drive.  We ate lunch at a park and seeing as we still had an hour before check in we headed to the beach in our clothes.  I thought we would hang out and then go get changed once we could get into our hotel room.  Well by the time that happened we were already totally wet and sandy so we spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach in our clothes until a storm came rolling in and it was raining.

The next morning after a little more rain, we headed right back out to the beach.  Lucky for us we got a late check out so right before check out we ran back to the hotel and showered and changed.  I'm pretty sure we could've stayed at the beach all week without getting bored. Aria especially loved going out in the water, which was so warm, and jumping waves with Dad. Jaron loved it too.  Siena was a little more cautious and chose to build sandcastles.  (This was kind of strange to me because Siena is more confident in pools and swimming than Aria is...)

That afternoon we headed back to Orlando and stayed at a hotel right by the airport.  We got all our stuff organized, dried out (still with lots of sand) and swam for quite a while before heading to dinner and watching a final movie in bed at the hotel.

We woke up super early (4:45am eastern time) to drop off our car and get to our flight on time.  Luckily it all worked out and once again the kids were super good during the flight and we had no issues.

We were all happy to be back in Utah and home and in our own beds that night.

We sure had a fun trip and one we'll never forget.  Lots of fun times, lots of firsts for the kids.  We made a video of our pictures and compiled all the videos and they've already watched them over and over again.  I'd say it was a success.

Orlando Day 3 and 4

The next day, we took a break and had a laid back sort of day.  We ate a later breakfast, and then decided to head to downtown Orlando.  They have this fun lake downtown where there is a park and then you can rent some paddle boats for 30 minutes.  It was something fun and different to do although Shane and were dying of heat after paddling a boat for 30 minutes.  Ha ha.

After lunch I stayed in the room while Jaron took a nap and Shane took the girls swimming.  Almost immediately after Jaron woke up my friend that I used to work with at 3M, Denise, came with her 2 kids and we went swimming again.  It was so fun to catch up with her.  We don't talk nearly as often and it was fun to see her kids.

We had an early dinner and early bedtime so the kids would be rested as we headed back to Magic Kingdom the next day.

I was way more prepared for the 2nd day.  We ended up walking in right as the gates opened.  I also brought more snacks, more water and cups for everyone since the water fountains weren't cutting it for us.  I also packed our lunch since my kids would much rather just eat a PB&J for lunch then just about anything else we could find.  We also took a lot more breaks.  This all worked out great and allowed us to stay at the park until after 8pm straight without having to leave.  Success!

Right as we walked in we realized they had decorated for Christmas. The Christmas tree was up and Christmas music was playing on Main St.  We got there right as lines were forming to meet Minnie and Pluto and since those were the 2 characters I wanted the girls and Jaron to for sure meet we were really excited this all worked out.

After that we headed back and rode a bunch of rides and were loving that none of them had much of a line at all.  We rode the teacups twice and dumbo twice.  Dumbo has this fun indoor, air conditioned play ground that you can play in while you wait in line.  Well since there was no line we just played for a while.  The girls even went on the kids Roller Coaster and loved it.  I wished Jaron was a touch taller and we could've taken them on a few more but for sure next time as they don't seem scared of roller coasters at all.

Then we went and met Ariel, went on The Little Mermaid ride, which all the kids LOVED and then went and met Belle, where they put on a little show for you and of course my kids wanted nothing to do with being picked to be part of it.  Oh well.

After lunch we headed over to Autopia (although I don' think that's it's name in Orlando but whatev) and then had a fun slow ride on the Peoplemover.  We then headed over and rode the jungle cruise where Siena fell asleep (yay) and then while I ran around getting everyone snacks and Shane and I Pineapple ice cream (our fav) everyone else sat in the shade and saved spots for the parade.  We saw it the first day but sat in the sun and it was miserable for all of us.  Much more fun this time and all the kids loved waving to the characters.  Aria I'm pretty sure never stopped waving the entire time, it was so cute.  Jaron also got a high five from one of the dwarfs from Snow White.

We also went and met Donald and Goofy...although I can't even remember what time of day we fit this all in. Jaron, who was hesitant around a lot of the characters ran right up to Donald and threw his arms around him.  He only did this with Cinderella, Donald and Mickey later that night.  It was cute and I'm so glad I got a good picture of it.

After a few more rides, we sat down for some dinner then headed over and saw a Mickey show in front of Cinderella's castle, all while holding spots for Elsa's Holiday magic.  Basically Elsa turned Cinderella's castle into her Ice Castle and it was AMAZING!  We had great spots where all 3 kids could stand on a railing and see perfectly so it turned out great.

We thought we were going to go home right after that but instead the kids insisted on standing in line to meet Tinkerbell and Mickey Mouse.  Mickey was fun because none of the Disney characters talk but Mickey actually talked and the kids LOVED hearing him talk.  They were soo tired by this point as you can see from the pictures but it really added the finishing touches to our great day.

Top rides of the trip, Little Mermaid ride, Tea Cups, and the Carousel.  It's a small world was a close 2nd, only cuz I let them throw money into the water to make a wish.

I was so happy that we had such a great 2nd day at Magic Kingdom and got to ride and see everything we wanted to.
