The end of May and beginning of June was our ward Girls Camp. We went to Panguitch and rented 2 homes next door to each other that shared a backyard. I went the last 2 days one night. I planned the faith walk and was there for the water games, testimony meeting and clean up. The entire camp was 4 days and I know Siena and Aria had so much fun as I think all the other girls did as well. The theme was 'Look Up' and we got these cute sweatshirts to remind us of the theme.
Jaron, Graham, and Rush all signed up and went to the Clear Creek Summer Camp for a 2 day adventure. They had a good time, maybe not their favorite camp ever, but it was fun cuz these 3 boys have been friends since Kindergarten and have fun no matter what they do.
One afternoon we decided to go visit the Poppy Fields in Alpine. We have never been before and I have always wanted to go but I hear it is crazy crowded. Well it so happened it was a cool, drizzly afternoon so it kept the crowds away and it was fun to go see them, they really are so pretty.
As we all know, Aria is all about horses. I can't tell you the hundreds (and I'm not exaggerating that) of letters I get on my be at nights begging me to buy or lease her a horse. Well she and Shane put an ad on KSL Classifieds about leasing a horse and this man replied that he is training 2 young horses and needs a young rider to help him out and would Aria be interested. So for several weeks this summer she will be helping him out and in turn will get some free riding time on his other horses or possibly a trail ride. So along with her regular weekly lesson she still takes from Aimee, she will have this...which I'm hoping will satisfy her desire for her own horse a little.
The girls have wanted to go to Lagoon with Annie and although a day pass is so expensive she talked her parents into it. So she came with us to Lagoon one time. We had a good time and made sure she got on all the good rides.
Aria has been practicing a song so that she could play her Violin in Sacrament meeting sometime. So she did it in June. She played a medley of "Have I Done Any Good" and "Love One Another" She was pretty nervous but she had played it so many times and was so ready. She did a great job and it sounded beautiful. I love watching my kids share their talents.
We had all the boy cousins come over and swim one afternoon when Max and Owen were staying with my parents while Jeff and Whitney were out of town. It was a fun afternoon and they swam for a long time and didn't want to get out when it was time to.
We celebrated Shane's birthday and Father's Day. Always grateful for everything Shane does for me and our family. He works so hard and is a calming force for me. He always wants the kids to dream big and think for themselves. More and more I find the kids, especially Siena, downstairs in his office just talking away about all sorts of random subjects. He is for the smart parent in the family and he loves to teach them anything they want to learn about. We also celebrated my Dad's birthday. Sure appreciate everything he does for us and still always wants to know what is going on in our lives and loves to support and encourage all we do.
After the disappointment of soccer tryouts last month, Jaron and Shane have spent lots of evenings at the soccer field. It's a combination of fun for Jaron and wanting to improve and be the best he can. I thought this night was so pretty with the mountains all lit up as the sun went down. We sure live in a beautiful place and are so blessed with beauty and opportunities.
I took the girls to the Lehi Rodeo for our annual rodeo. We always have a fun time and Aria especially loves it. We always try to sit right where the steer and barrel racers line up so we can see them not just while they're out in the arena.
We took full advantage of Free Frazzle Fridays and went several times during June for our free Frazzles at various gas stations!
Siena went to Lone Peak basketball camp for a few days and won a t-shirt one day for winning the 3v3 game that day.
I took Siena and Aria to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat musical that was playing in South Jordan one evening. It was fun but the best part was afterwards we got to meet the Llama they had in the play and he tried to kiss Siena. We were laughing so hard about it.
I took Aria to see the Budweiser Clydesdale Horses one Saturday. We had heard they were in town at some random Smith's parking lot. Aria of course was so excited. They were huge and it was super fun to see them but it was sooo crowded in this parking lot. But we watched them unload them, line them up and then they did a little parade around the parking lot.
Jennifer, Michelle, Brigitte and I all went to see New Kids on the Block. We've seen them so many times that we almost didn't go this time but then found $20 grass seats so we thought why not. And boy are we happy we went. Every time we go they come into the audience but it's never that close to us. Well all of the sudden I looked over and Donny (my favorite) was almost to the aisle before the grass seats start. I just took off and ran down there fully expecting security to stop me but they didn't. We got so close to Donny while he was singing and we were freaking out. Then as he leaves we turn around and here come Joey walking right towards me. We ran over and took selfies and videos of him as well. We got terrible pictures but trust me, the videos are amazing and so fun! It was a night to remember for sure. We were all screaming so loud and being crazy!
