I always let the kids have one Bake Sale over the summer. (although Jaron and his friends like to sell 'snacks' all summer but I have nothing to do with it.. So this was the one time the girls and their friend Annie had a bake sale. They always have fun doing it and making some money and I was happy to get the one time this summer over with.
Jaron and his friends got to go to space camp. It was an all day camp where they had space simulators and 2 different missions to complete. They had a fun time and it's cool that our school district has this space center we can attend.
I took the girls to the Little Mermaid 3D Movie. I don't usually like the 3D movies so we don't usually do the 3D part of it but we did this time and it was pretty fun and the girls felt really cool that we could do that.
We have Lagoon season passes this year so expect to see Lagoon pictures over the next several months. I was hoping to go at least 7 times (spoiler alert, I think we went at least 9-10 times.) The kids love Lagoon and even though it's a little far to get there, we always have a really good time.
The kids have really been into Studio C comedy group through BYU so I was super excited when we were able to get tickets to a taping of the show. It was so fun to see the cast, see how they film, etc. While we were waiting to go into the studio we met one of the producers for their other favorite BYU TV show All Round Champion. When we met him and told him that was our favorite show he left and came back with 3 t-shirts for the kids from that show. The kids were so excited. It was such a fun night.
We celebrated Dad's Birthday!
Aria started Horse lessons with a new girl named Aimee. She is taking lessons with Lisbon (lives next door to us) So it's been taking with someone else and riding new horses.
For our family trip this summer we booked a place at Oceanside. It was just our family and had this great place 1/2 block from the beach. We had a great time. It was relaxing but so fun. There wasn't any pressure to keep any schedule. We went to the beach everyday but still was able to sleep in, relax, play games at night and really just hang out. The Sunday we were there we went to Church there and then to Christy's for dinner since it was Father's Day. Some other highlights of the trip were the huge waves crashing over the street at night when the tide came in. Finding seashells, castle building contest, boogie boarding, ice cream one night, flying kits and lots and lots of sand!
We had a cousin reunion with my Barron cousins. We had it at cousin Emily's beautiful backyard in Mapleton. Her sister, Leslie, brought her pet Oaky the owl. Siena and Aria were so excited and got to hold it.
