It's a ......

I got an ultrasound done today.  I'm 16 1/2 weeks.  It wasn't my official ultrasound but my doctor's office does a 'gender check' ultrasound if we want for a small price.  When I heard that we could do that before our regular 20 week appointment, I was all for that.

So we went in today.  Here is what the baby looks like:

And the baby was very cooperative and not shy at all...

We are having a BOY!!!

We are super excited to have a boy.  Shane really wanted a boy and I was hoping it was going to be a boy so we are thrilled.  It seems weird to think of what a boy will be like in our family but we can't wait to find out.

Isn't he cute?

Children's Museum

This last weekend we took the girls to the Children's Museum. They have $5/weekend nights for the month of February so we decided to take them and see how they did.  They LOVED it.  We had such a fun night so be prepared for a ton of pictures.

I almost went by myself so Shane could get some stuff done but I'm so glad he decided he wanted to go because although the girls played together part of the time, a lot of time they were in totally different parts of the museum.  When Siena goes off she kind of looks every once in a while to make sure one of us is around.  When Aria takes off she just starts walking and she never looks back, ever.  So I was happy we could split up and they could go wherever they wanted.

Aria loved the balls...or mostly what I call the Plinko board (from Price is Right).  They both loved playing in the water for a long time.  They loved the little kitchen that was just their size and it was so nice that I didn't have to tell them to stop touching the stove knobs every 10 seconds.  Every time I'm cooking in our kitchen they come and turn those knobs either off or full blast on my stove.  I always stand right there but still sometimes they reach right around me and turn them.  Luckily they aren't tall enough to touch the flame yet, but it's coming.  Siena loved pushing the shopping cart around and probably spent 30 minutes pushing that from one end of the museum to the other.  She only stopped when she saw a piano just her size to play and some kid came and swiped the cart from her, which she was fine with.  The other thing they loved was a huge, plastic horse they could sit on.  They love their rocking horse at home so they got on this life size horse and kept rocking back and forth.  Several times we tried to leave the horse and they went running back and wanted to sit on it again.

I turned into a little bit of a protective mother a few times when these 6 and 7 year olds would come running over and just push there way through to see something with no regard to the little kids.  I mostly just watched to see what my girls would do and mostly they didn't really mind but it bugged me.  I had to say something one time when we were in the under 3 years old area and trying to get Siena to go down this slide when a 7 year old came up and tried to cut right in front of us.  To his credit he did say excuse me but I just turned to him and nicely said 'you're going to have to wait your turn.'  What I really wanted to say was, go find somewhere else to play because you aren't under 3.

At the end of the night Siena found these stairs with a little hand rail just her size so she started learning how to go up and down stairs standing up instead of crawling up and down them.  She stood there practicing for about 10 minutes, such a big girl.  Sorry they are blurry.

I didn't know how long they would last or how much they would really like it but it was a great night and a ton of fun for them and us.

Tutus and Leg Warmers

My friend from High School, Konstantina, came to visit this month.  It was a quick 2 day trip but we had a good time catching up and she spoiled the girls.  She got them these ridiculously, stinkin cute leg warmers and tutu's.  Look how cute they look in them.

We had Brigitte and Tyler and kids over for dinner, went to my parents (where I sweet talked my dad into making us breakfast.)  And even made it to a movie one afternoon.  So even though it was short, we had a lot of fun.

They really did love Konstantina and they even had a little dance party on Sunday while Shane and I were at church.

3 Musketeers

Yes, it’s true, I’m Pregnant!

Baby Glover #3

Due August 2, 2013

We are thrilled and excited to welcome another baby into our family. And yes, for those wondering, it’s just ONE!

Finding Out

A little bit about this pregnancy so far.

I suspected I was pregnant over Thanksgiving when we were in California. On the drive home that Sunday I started feeling a little nauseous and there were enough symptoms that by Monday morning when I took a pregnancy test I was going to be shocked if I wasn’t pregnant. Shane had a dentist appointment that morning and I had the day off work so while he was gone I decided to get out the Christmas decorations. I decorated our fireplace mantle and put up our stockings. I went and grabbed a little tiny stocking that we had gotten from somewhere and put it up as well. So when Shane walked in I thought he would notice it right away (he’s really observant usually) but he didn’t. So I told him there was a present for him on the mantle. As he walked towards the mantle he said, ‘Congrats you’re pregnant' jokingly…I think he even came back and gave me a kiss. I didn’t say a word. He looked at the mantle and still didn’t get it, so I told him it was in one of the stockings. I think he touched all 4 stockings before he looked at the fifth one, reached inside and found my pregnancy test in it.

I feel really blessed and excited that we didn’t have to do any fertility this time. I think it really does take a long time to get over all this chemo as I can tell a difference in my body this time around as compared to the first time trying to get pregnant. In fact, we’re both in a little shock we got pregnant so fast and so easily. I told my doctor that one of my first thoughts when I found out I was pregnant was ‘That was so fast and so cheap…who knew it was so cheap to get pregnant!’  :)

I’ve been more sick this time than I was with the girls. Not horribly sick but just nauseous and yucky feeling. It’s mostly passed now but I still have my moments here and there (like this morning for instance.) They say you’re usually doubly sick with twins but in my case I never felt sick at all. I feel way bigger then I ever did at this point before. I’m totally showing and pretty sure I’m going to be bigger with one baby then I was with 2.   This is a picture of me at 13 weeks.

It really is just one, we had it confirmed via an ultrasound at our first appointment. Here’s a phone shot of the ultrasound picture…you can’t really tell what it is but it’s a baby and it’s just one.

Announcing

Here is the video I made to announce to our family that I was pregnant.  I reduced the size cuz I’m paranoid about taking up space on the blog, so the quality is really bad, but you get the idea.  You don't need your sound on.

My family caught on pretty fast what was going on.  Well most of them did.  Shane's family all thought the signing was so cute that they didn't even get it.  Even at the end, his mom was just going on and on about what good little baby signers the girls are.  Shane had to replay it for her and tell her to really watch it this time...lol.
