May 2023

May...end of school year craziness.  This month just about does me in, and we're all grateful for a summer break after this month gets done!  Here we go...

We were able to go to the Saratoga Springs temple.  It was a pretty day and not that crowded so it ended up being so nice and it's so pretty inside with big spacious grounds as well.

Aria participated in the orchestra playing prelude and postlude musical music for the school play Annie.  She had fun being a part of it even though she wasn't in the actual play.  They had 4 different performances and they sounded great.  Aria had a lot of songs to practice these last 4 months and she did great in all of them.

Siena and Aria went to their 5th Grade Hope of America performance at the Marriott Center at BYU.  It was so fun and I loved all the music.  I even got a little teary at the last song about shining your light.  Such a fun experience for them.

Jaron participated in the Westfield run and got a top 10 finish in all the 5th grade boys.  That afternoon they had their color blast.  Ridgeline has never done this and Jaron had so much fun and had a good time as you can see from the pictures!

Jaron's soccer season came to an end.  He has had such a great time on his Surf team this year.  He has improved a ton and has made some fun friends and has loved being on a club team this year.  Tryouts happened the next week and although his team looks a little different he's excited to still have his same coach, Dallin.  He moved up a level this year and he's excited for the new challenge.

I went with the girls to their 5th grade Clear Creek camp.  We left at 7:30am and got home at 8pm.  2 hour drive each way but we had such a fun time doing ropes courses, crafts, games, hiking, skits and lots of other fun activities.  The 5th grade teachers did such a good job planning and it was so organized and well put together.

Siena and Aria also put together a famous person in American History poster and bottle figure.  Siena did Amelia Earhart and Aria did Laura Ingalls Wilder (anything slightly related to a horse!)  I don't know why but I don't have a picture of her poster but here is her bottle figurine.

The girl's soccer season came to an end as well.  Their coach this year was nice and they had lots of friends on their team which always makes it more fun.

The worst part about having kids at 2 different elementary schools is when the same event conflicts.  This time it was the dance festival.  So Shane went to watch the girl's dance and I went to watch Jaron's.  Luckily, we can record them for each other but it's always sad when I have to miss an event.  The girls did some song I had never heard of and Jaron's whole school did country western dances (Jaron was not thrilled as you can imagine.)

Jaron had a cardboard arcade game day.  He made a plinko game and skee ball game and had a fun day playing his and other kids games.

Aria started horse back riding lessons up again.  Her old teacher, Scott has been getting treatments for cancer and hasn't been up to it so we found a girl to do some lessons.  Our neighbor, Lisbon, is doing them with her and it's been fun for Aria to be back riding horses, her dream come true!

I helped with Jaron's end of school year class party.  We played some fun minute to win it games and the kids are always so excited for any little game you plan.

Jaron has had an amazing 4th grade teacher this year.  We were nervous about going to a new school, starting a new program, making friends, and Mrs. Pendleton has been amazing for Jaron.  He has progressed, loves school again and Mrs. Pendleton was always on the lookout to make sure Jaron fit in, felt comfortable and Jaron and I are both so grateful for an amazing year.

Lucky's snow cone shack opened up so we had to go get snow cones to celebrate summer!

Last Day of School!
