Our last trip before the girls come

My doctor had told me that with multiples that the potential for complications usually begin between 24-28 weeks.  So she advised us if we were going to take a trip not to travel during those weeks.  And that if I did have complications that travel after 28 weeks was going to be cancelled.  So, we knew we had to go somewhere.  Between my big work projects and the weeks ticking away we finally got to leave for a long weekend in San Diego.

It worked out perfectly.  We got a last minute deal on Delta and went for it.  We had a great time.

The first day we went to Balboa Park.  We walked around the gardens, an art museum and had a great time.  The sun had just come out and so we were soaking up the sun.  I don't think I had seen the sun and felt it's warmth in so long with the cold, rainy, spring we have had.  I had forgotten when in the sun, you can get sunburnt.  So we were a little toasty red that night but it was so nice and fun to just walk around.  One thing that I have enjoyed doing that I never did much of before marrying Shane was walk through gardens, etc.  Shane loves plants and we now both enjoy walking through gardens and seeing all the different plants and flowers.
yes you can see my belly button :(

This is for Shane's mom who is obsessed with the movie Zorro

After Balboa Park we went and walked around the shops at Seaport Village.  One tradition we have started is every year we get a Christmas ornament from a place we have travelled to that year.  Knowing this was going to be probably our only trip of the year we were so excited that they had Christmas ornaments here and they even had a whole Christmas shop there.  So we're set with that for the year.  Check.

That night at the last minute we realized The San Diego Padres were playing, so we decided to go.  It ended up being cap night so we both got free Padre hats.  I'm not a Padres fan, but I still love going to a ballpark and enjoying a baseball game here and there.  The game was actually pretty boring and they lost 2-1.

Sunday we drove up to Orange County and spent the day with Christy's family.  My parents also came down from Arcadia on their mission and so we spent the day together.  We had a yummy tri-tip dinner with a great chocolate bundt cake.  Thanks Christy for having us over and having such a great day.

Monday we drove out to Coronado Island.  We walked around the shops, walked down the beach, looked at some tidepools (of which Shane has never been to any...strange to me but true.) and had a relaxing morning.  That afternoon we hit a matinee (fyi, the matinee prices in California are $10/ticket....are you kidding me!!) and then had a casual dinner at a fish shop overlooking the San Diego bay.

Tuesday we headed out of San Diego and made our way back to the airport. We made a few stops at the San Diego temple, the outlets in Carlsbad, the Newport Beach temple and then Newport beach for an hour before our flight.

The entire trip was great.  It went way too fast but we were glad we could get away for a long weekend.

24-25 Weeks

You might be able to figure out a few things from this picture:

1 - We went on a trip.  Another post coming on that soon.
2 - I'm still very much pregnant, and showing a lot!

This picture was taken when I was 24 weeks.  I am now 25 weeks and just had another dr. appt. today.  I go every 2 weeks now.  The dr. appt. wasn't all that exciting today...good.  I did have my glucose test...it better come back fine.

I think up until last week I was still in a little bit of denial that everyone could just tell I was pregnant.  I know, I know, I'm totally showing, I'm just shocked when random people ask me about my pregnancy.  Like the flight attendant, the guy checking us in at the hotel, the stares from my face to my stomach and back again.  It's a good thing but it still surprises me for some odd reason.

I'm still feeling pretty good.  My back pain is mostly gone, thanks to my sister Michelle.  Everyone kept telling me to sleep with a body pillow or some type of pillow between your knees, which I already was.  It wasn't until Michelle told me that her back hurt more when she did that, that I gave up the pillow and have never looked back.  Now my shoulder and hips hurt a little in the morning but overall it's much better.

A lady at work 2 weeks ago told me I was already waddling...thank you very much lady.  Sheesh, can I help it that I had been sitting for a few hours and needed to get up and stretch and so yes I probably was waddling a little as I stretched my muscles, but did you really have to say something?

Other than that things are good.  I feel the babies kick non stop.  It's kind of fun to watch my stomach move and bulge out as they kick.  People ask me this and so I will just answer the question that yes I can tell which baby is which when they kick.  I didn't think I would but I definitely can.
