Siena is walking
2 nights ago Siena decided to take a couple steps for me. Well she has caught on fast and although she doesn't do it on her own yet, she is walking across our family room floor. Thought you would want to see some video. She's so proud of herself as you can tell! I hope this works.

More Birthday Celebrating
On the girls actual birthday we decided to keep it low key. We hung around in the morning playing with their new toys. It was like Christmas morning with all their toys from their party. Then Shane and I got them a little piano that plugs into the TV and teaches them colors, sounds, words, etc. And then another toy, the ballcano, that you put balls on the top of and then it lifts them up and sends them down the legs. They actually are loving both of those toys and play with them often.
After their morning nap we took them to Jungle Jims. I wasn’t sure if they would like it at all. They actually did really good. We took them on the carousel. Shane said Aria was shaking the whole time…I felt bad. The 2nd time though she warmed up and was fine. I think their favorite was the swings. Every time they would come around they would smile at us. We even took them on the roller coaster thing that goes in a circle. I was laughing hysterically because it was so fast and I had a death grip on Siena. Neither of them made a face one way or the other until it came to a stop and then they wanted off, fine by me. The worst ride was this train/cars that go around on a little track. On a lot of the rides Shane and/or I would go on it with them but this one the worker thought they would be just fine and I didn’t think I was going to fit in them anyways. So we put them together and off they went. You should’ve seen Siena’s face looking back at us very concerned about why this train was taking her away from her parents. Then they went through this little tunnel and when they came out I was standing right there and Siena was all slouched down in the chair totally crying. It was pretty sad but kind of funny at the same time. So overall I thought it was a success and I know they will like this place a lot more when they get a little bit older. But for their first time on rides on anything, they did really well. Afterwards we went to lunch and then came home and they were really ready for their afternoon nap.
Last year when I was still in the hospital after giving birth, my family got together and celebrated Jennifer’s birthday. Since the girls were born on her birthday I soon got a text with this picture.
The text said that Jennifer was getting her pose for next year’s picture ready. She said she couldn’t wait until the following year to have both the girls in each arm celebrating their birthdays together. Well I remembered this year to make sure I got a picture of the 3 girls on their birthday together.
It was a very fun day and a very long weekend full of celebrations.

That evening we went over to my parent’s house to celebrate mine and Jennifer’s birthdays. Of course we had the girls in our pictures again when they sang to us.

PAIRadise Birthday
The Saturday before their birthday we had a family birthday party for the girls. Shane thought of the theme of PAIRadise. We designed the birthday invitations and Shane put them together. I thought they turned out so cute and loved the expressions on their faces. We took their pictures just in our house with a white sheet as a background and then Shane photoshopped them in.
We did the party in our backyard thinking it would be a warm but not hot fall afternoon. Well it ended up being really hot and of course the party started during the hottest part of the day. We set up 2 tables, a pink one with Siena's picture on it and purple for Aria's picture. Then I printed all their pictures from each month and taped them to the posts of our gazebo.
We served Hawaain Haystacks to keep with the PAIRadise theme. Aria decided she couldn't wait for dinner to get over so she decided to start opening the gifts early. My family gave the girls a ton of new toys which they are in love with. They almost all make noise and so we have a lot of noise going on in our house these days and they love it.
We served them cake. Of course we had to keep with the theme and decorated them as a beach scene and then made cupcakes for everyone else. The girls didn't really dig into their cake that much which didn't surprise me either. We fed them a little and then they weren't really interested. My dad also made his yummy homemade ice cream and has been very excited to feed it to the girls, as we wouldn't let him give them any until they turned one. At first they didn't really want any but after everyone stopped staring at them, all of the sudden we caught Aria eating cake on Jennifer's lap and Siena was in love with ice cream. So they both ate their fair share of cake and ice cream, they just didn't want everyone staring at them when they did.
It turned out to be a great day. A big thanks for all our family (and Brigitte, Holland and Tyler, but I just count you when I say family) for the fun presents, cute clothes and supporting us and the girls for their birthday and this last entire year.

One Year
Yes, it's true, the girls are ONE! After dreading them turning one for the whole month, it ended up being a very happy day and I'm so happy we survived the first year. I posted this on Facebook that I can't believe it's been a year and I can't believe it's only been a year. I can barely remember them not being part of our family and the first few months are a little foggy and yet the year has flown by and here they are all cute and at such a fun stage right now. I love their little personalities that show themselves more and more each month.
This is going to be my last monthly post. I promised myself I would do monthly posts for the first year and I'm very proud of myself for doing it every month. don't worry I'll still be blogging a lot about the girls and stuff but after this I won't blog these formal monthly updates. Maybe every few months just give a little update but this will end my formal monthly posts...yay.
So without further ado...I present the monthly update.
Aria woke up one morning right after she turned 11 months and decided she wanted to crawl on all 4's. We were totally convinced she would never crawl on all 4's and I was totally fine with that. Well she literally woke up and crawled a couple steps and by the end of the hour she was pretty much crawling on all 4's and has never looked back. I LOVE seeing both girls at the same stage and keeping up with each other and they crawl after each other all around the house.
Siena is starting to let go while standing and then she usually just sits down. No steps yet.
Both wave hello or goodbye but Siena does it most consistently. It's so cute to see her little hand wave backwards, I love that.
We got some little walkers that the girls can walk behind. Aria takes a few steps behind it but mostly just likes to play with it. Siena loves her walker and has a perma grin on her face whenever she gets behind it and walks across the room. Here is one where Aria decided to take a little ride with Siena.
The both started a new thing when they get tired before their naps or bedtime. Siena finds a pillow or a blanket, crawls over, lays her head down for about 10 seconds and then gets up and keeps playing. Aria crawls up to me and wants to be held and then lays her head down on my shoulder, also for only 10 seconds and then gets up and looks around to see what she's missing out on. They both do it repeatedly until I finally put them to bed.
Still no teeth but I think we are finally really close and I won't be surprised if a couple come in at the same time. Their gums are swollen and it's been a cranky, drooling, runny noses kind of week.
Both are crawling up the stairs now although Aria is much faster and likes it more then Siena does. I think Aria is going to be our climber in this family...she loves to be up looking down, and is constantly trying to crawl over the back of the couch.
This week we go in for their year check up and lots of shots...sad.
UPDATE: The doctor appt. went well. They both got 4 shots, and were sooo mad/sad about it and VERY vocal. Here are their stats:
Siena:
20lbs 11oz - 50%
31 inches - off the charts
Head - 50%
Aria:
18lbs 9oz - 10%
30 inches - 85%
Head - 50%

My Birthday
Last Friday was my birthday! All week I kept reminiscing about last year and how very, very pregnant I was. So it was quite a different birthday from last year and it was great.
Shane woke me up with doughnuts in bed. He got up extra early and went and got fresh doughnuts that we enjoyed in bed before the girls woke up. I got new ipod speakers that I wanted for the kitchen and I love them. We met my family for lunch to celebrate mine and Jennifer's birthdays. I took a nap while the girls slept that afternoon. Then after we all woke up, Shane and I went to dinner and then up to Sundance to see Peter Breinholt in concert. It was a great night. I love Peter's Sundance concert and it didn't disappoint this year. We had great seats and enjoyed the cooling weather in the mountains. Jennifer watched the girls for a few hours and then my parents came and brought them home and put them to bed. So it worked out perfectly.
It was a great day and just the beginning of a very long and fun weekend full of birthday festivities for me and the girls. Lots of posts coming up on the girls' birthdays.

Bouncy Seat Reunion
Remember cute little Siena and how much she loved the butterfly's on her bouncy seat? Here she is in her bouncy seat at 3 months. She would stare at those butterfly's and coo at them for a long time.
We gave the bouncy seat to Lilly since we have more than outgrown it. While we were at her house on Sunday, Siena saw the bouncy seat and for a while stood by it and played with her butterflys again. It was a little reunion for her and her friends. Well pretty soon she tired of standing and decided to just crawl in and enjoy her bouncy seat one more time.
Then a little later Lilly was in the bouncy seat and Aria was so intrigued by what was in the bouncy seat. Lilly kept moving but all Aria could see was her dress moving. So she crawled on over and kept lifting Lilly's dress up to see what was under there. It was pretty funny.
