Holland

Thursday night, April 28, Brigitte had her baby.  She made her appearance just one day after her due date, not too bad at all.  Holland Bliss Pace weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and 20 inches long.  She has long feet and hands, a little light brown hair and the cutest red little lips.  She likes to suck the bottom lip.  She's a keeper for sure.  Both Brigitte and Holland are doing really well.

I got to go see Brigitte and Holland at the hospital on Friday during my lunch break and hold Holland.  While I was holding her both my babies started moving and kicking.  Usually I only feel one kick at a time but this time both were moving quite a bit.  So I think they were trying to let their new friend know that they were there.  Either that or they're already jealous she's here and they're not.

Here are a few pictures of Holland:

And then I didn't want to forget to post this picture that Brigitte and I took together about 10 days ago of both of our pregnant bellies together.  BFF's carrying a new generation of BFF's:

A Milestone

You might think I've hit a milestone in my pregnancy, and although I probably have, this post is about the milestone of my car.

My 2003 Nissan Altima hit 100,000 miles!!  In my last car I missed seeing the odometer turn to 100,000 and I was so mad 18 miles later when I remembered.  So this time I was not going to miss it.  But I was nervous I was going to get distracted and miss it again.  So I kept staring at it...could I get a ticket for distracted driving for that?  "But officer, I really do NOT want to miss my car turn 100,000 miles!"  The officer would understand, right?  So the day before, I had been talking about it so much that Shane even wrote me a note to remind me.  It just so happens that I hit 99,998 as I got home from work one day so I picked up Shane and we went on a little drive until it turned.

There it is:

This car has been a really good car to me.  My last car I had sooo many issues with and it was supposed to be a really reliable car.  So I've been happy that Nissan has been so good to me and it just keeps running.  It's had a few problems and it's starting to sound old to me but overall I have no complaints and am happy it just keeps running me around wherever I want to go, whether it's just around town, to work or on a road trip.

Here's to staying strong Altima and please keep running for a while longer!

Apparently I'm showing

This week I had the first person who didn't know I was pregnant look at me and ask if I was pregnant.  And it was a guy!  I was talking to him at work, and he kept looking at me and looking at my stomach, back and forth.  I wasn't sure if he knew or not and then all of the sudden he says 'uh...' (and looks at my stomach) 'I don't want to say anything but....'  so I said 'Yes it's true'  and he says 'you say it, I don't want to say it first'  lol...so I told him that yes indeed I was pregnant.  So I guess there's no going back, it's out and forward with my stomach.

I went maternity clothes shopping with my sister in law Whitney this week.  She is 27 weeks and I'm 15.  I feel like I'm catching up to her.  I am not in maternity clothes yet, but am just in the in between stage where some things still fit me but my jeans are really tight on me.  So it won't be long now.  We had a family dinner last week and Whitney and I took this picture together to show our progress.  All my sisters brought over maternity clothes for us to go through and split up so it was super nice of them to get a lot of clothes so I don't have to worry about buying so much.

Inside and Out

Here's how these little ones look on the outside:

And here is what they look like on the inside:

That's right, if you are reading the last picture correctly, they are sisters.  We're having 2 girls They were positive about Baby B and they want to double check Baby A at my next appointment but they were pretty sure she was a girl too.  I had my latest ultrasound yesterday and both girls are looking great still.  I thought it was so cute that they were facing each other.  The u/s tech said this would probably be the last shot we would get of both babies together in the same picture because they will be too big by the next time.

Other tidbits of information about the pregnancy thus far:
  • I'll be 15 weeks on Monday
  • My nightly feeling yucky and bloated has subsided a little, yeah
  • I haven't been quite as tired...that might be just because I get more sleep now and force myself to go to bed earlier than I normally would.
  • I am starting to show...hence the photo above...I wish I could stay this size! :)
  • I haven't had any real cravings but there are definitely days that something sounds better than others, but it's just random.  I'm trying to force myself to eat healthy and eat a lot as they want me to gain quite a bit of weight the first half of my pregnancy.
  • I started feeling them move this week.  It seemed a little early but I guess with twins it's pretty common.   The first time I felt Baby A move, she did a roll or something. It brought me straight out of my thoughts as I was driving one morning.  Since then I've felt little flutters here and there.  It's fun now but I'm sure as they get bigger and start actually kicking me it won't be as fun.  My doctor and u/s tech. on Friday were commenting on how much they were moving.  I may be in for it!
  • No we haven't even begun thinking about names and decorating or anything like that, I'm sure it will come.
