Island Park, Idaho

This last weekend Shane and I headed up to Island Park, ID for the his family reunion on his mom's side of the family. I have actually never been to Island Park and we had such a great weekend.

Shane and I, Shane's Mom, and her parents at the family reunion.

We got up there on Friday night and headed straight for the local rodeo. When I say local...I mean local. Basically anyone that was there could just walk up and participate. Shane's cousin rode a bull, another relative rode the steer and of course the young kids participated in the chase the calf event, whatever it's really called.

Saturday morning we drove over to the Mesa Falls. I was actually very impressed with the size of this fall and it was soo beautiful with the constant rainbow at the bottom of it. Then we drove around the lake and saw the huge lake front cabins.

Saturday lunch time was the official family reunion. I didn't count but I am sure there were close to 75 people there. It was fun meeting a lot of family that I had never met before.

Saturday afternoon Shane and I drove over to West Yellowstone and walked through the town looking at some shops and then buying some yummy fudge. Saturday night we went out to dinner with some of Shane's cousins and it was fun getting to know them better.

Sunday we went to Sacrament meeting at the Island Park ward. Over the holiday weekends, they have a huge turn out and this year was no different, they had over 2000 people in attendance. They were in every room in the church, on the lawn and anywhere you can think of.

After church we checked out of the motel and and drove over to Big Springs where we saw huge fish that you can feed and some beautiful water. There was even a muskrat swimming around that was kind of cute.

After another lunch with family, we headed home. We had such a great time relaxing (although I am pretty sure the mattress we slept on is the worst mattress I've ever slept on.) It was soo nice to get away just for the weekend and see a place I've never been to. I hope to go back and spend more time there hiking, floating the river, and doing some other things.

Do you recognize him?

This picture was too great not to post. Do you recognize who is on the TV? Yep, that is Jordan Knight of New Kids on the Block! I know I already told you my family's love for NKOTB but one more post doesn't hurt. Their tour this summer didn't stop in Salt Lake, however, they brought the tour to us. NKOTB decided to broadcast their 2nd to last concert of the tour over the internet. Lucky for me (and my family) I have a techy husband who was able to hook the laptop up to the TV and sound system. All my sisters and Brigitte came over (well my parents, Jeff and Whitney , and Tyler showed up as well) and we rocked out. I am sure the neighbors were wondering what was going on cuz the sound system was LOUD. It was so fun to be in the comfort of your home rocking out to the concert. We missed Christy this time as she was home in California but this picture gives you a good idea of the great night we had. (Jennifer was there but you can't really see her, just her arm.)

Glover Happenings

It's been a while since I posted what we've been up to lately. We've been so busy, but nothing really all that blog worthy. So I thought I would post a little update on the things that have been keeping us so busy.

In the last month I've had 1 brother, 1 sister, and 1 sister-in-law move. So we've spent some of our spare time moving and helping with the moving of each person. Hopefully they are all happy with their new places.

My mother-in-law came into town to help with one of the moves. It was fun having her stay with us, although she was gone a lot helping paint and lay carpet in the new house her daughter was moving into (yes my mother-in-law can lay her own carpet and has all the tools to do it.)

Within a 10 day period in June, there were 10 birthdays between mine and Shane's families...crazy. No more babies allowed the beginning of June!

My sister Christy and her family have been up here this week visiting. It's always fun when they come into town. We took advantage of everyone being together and had Goold Family pictures taken. Quiet the undertaking with 12 grandchildren.

My best friend, Brigitte got engaged to Tyler Pace. I am sooo excited for them and can't wait for their wedding. They are getting married August 7, so they only have about a 6 week engagement. Things are coming along but it's busy trying to get it all planned. Congratulations Brigitte and Tyler!

I was once again declared Cancer Free. Yes, I had another scan a couple weeks ago. I turned into a hypochondriac just like I did last time but all is well and no cancer exists in my body. I have hit the 1 year mark now and it feels good to be a year free of cancer. Do you like how I just throw this news here in the middle of my blog? Trying to let cancer screenings just be another normal part of my life. It doesn't rule my life anymore!

I've been busy with Church related things as well. The end of May we had a Youth Temple celebration that I was helping out with driving and getting the kids to and from practices. It was quite time consuming but it turned out really nice and I think everyone enjoyed it. We also had a ward activity that we were on the committee for. We had a old fashioned picnic and it turned out great. We had a lot of participation and everyone had a good time. I also had to speak that same week in sacrament meeting on Adversity...not my favorite topic but it turned out ok. That's twice in this ward that I have already spoken in a year...I think I'm set for a while now.

Well that's the list...busy,busy,busy but life is good, I have no complaints. Just trying to enjoy summer and the warm weather while it's here.

4th of July

We had a very busy and long 4th of July weekend. I had Friday off from work, so I spent most of the day cleaning my house. Not very fun, but it needed it so it felt good to get it done. Friday night Shane's brother and his family were up in Park City and invited us to come up. They had gotten a hotel room at The Canyons. Friday night, the Disco Drippers were playing and they were going to have a fireworks show afterwards. So we went up, had a BBQ, hung out, watched the Disco Drippers and then watched the fireworks show. It was nice that they had a hotel room cuz then we could hang out for a while waiting for the crowd to die down. It was nice to get out of town, even if it was only Park City for the night.

Saturday was spent moving Shane's sister into a new house and then that night, while Shane kept on moving, I went over to my parents to celebrate the actual 4th. We had dinner and then my parents had this great idea to do a family parade around the neighborhood. I was hoping to get out of it (I had been moving boxes all day) but when my brother Jeff offered to pull me around in the wagon, I was in. I barely fit in it, but it was pretty fun. A little embarrassing, but hey, I don't know that many of my parents neighbors anyways. That night we went to Thanksgiving Point to watch the fireworks. Lori and Doug knew the best spot where the views were great and we could hurry and leave right after without hitting all the traffic.

We had a great 4th of July!
