We had another great Draper Days weekend. Of course the favorite activity of the weekend is riding the horses. The girls started asking about the horses at Draper Park about 6 weeks before Draper Days started. So I'm pretty sure we were just about the first ones in line Friday when they opened. The good thing about going on Friday is that there is no crowd and so they give you a longer ride. Last year we went Friday and Saturday and I was shocked at how much shorter the ride was on Saturday with a line. So a little tip I remembered from last year.
They also had a free train ride that I think we went on 4 or 5 times throughout the weekend. The kids loved it. We went and watched the Water Dogs jumping Friday afternoon and the kids even did a bounce house this year.
Friday night after we did some family things, Shane took the kids home and I stayed and watched the concert with Jennifer and Brigitte. Diamond Rio performed which was fun to hear them.
Saturday morning was the parade. A great small town parade again and I'm pretty sure the kids got more candy from the parade than they got last year for Halloween. We had sooo much taffy!
Then of course Saturday night was another concert...the music of Chicago and Kansas and I thought it was just ok, they didn't play any of the good Chicago songs that I liked. They mostly played Chicago from the 70's. But the fireworks were great as always. I'm always surprised how good our kids are for this, staying up late, etc. but they loved it as well. They gave out these free frisbies and I'm pretty sure Jaron would've thrown this to anyone all night long...well he practically did until it got dark.
Another Draper Days in the books.
