The month started out with the Kindergarten program. It was nice to get it over with early in the month. Each kid had a speaking part and they sang some cute songs and talked about what they learned all year. Siena and Aria have had a great year here. We loved their teacher, Mrs. Reckling and they made lots of friends and learned lots. Mrs. Reckling put together the cutest portfolio of a lot of their work they did this year. It had art work, writing and math pages and a good variety of all the things they learned. They are excited and ready for 1st grade, although I'm going to miss them being at school so long each day next year. Siena and Aria are on the top right corner.
We had Pre-K and Kindergarten Guests and Goodies. It was a fun morning where we got to eat donuts and read books. And it was fun that all 3 kids got to do this on the same day as they split all the other grades up one at a time.
Jaron's class hosted a Mom's and muffins the Friday before Mother's day. They sang a few songs and then Jaron was so cute and such a gentlemen, he dished up and served me my food. It was cute to watch him ask me what I want and when I went to just dish up, he stopped me and said he would get it for me.
Mother's day was great this year. Every year my kids get cuter and cuter about these holidays. They made the cutest little cards and crafts and even made me multiple notes in church that day. They get so excited to give me their cute little drawings and notes and I love it. I love being their mom. Some days aren't easy but seeing their faces light up over the smallest things makes my heart melt.
Jaron had his Pre-K Graduation and it was so cute to watch him walk out in his red cap and gown. They sang cute songs and had a great morning. His teacher also made him the cutest portfolio full of pictures, drawings, writing samples and such a fun assortment of all the things they did this year.
I got to go watch the end of year Dance Festival. Unfortunately Siena woke up in the middle of the night throwing up and so she didn't get to participate this year, which also meant Shane stayed home as well. Both the Kindergarten and Pre-K dances were of course the cutest! It was cute to watch all the dances and everyone worked so hard to make this event great.
I got to help out with Field day for the Kindergartners. It was a fun last day of school for them and at the end we got to watch the end of year DVD Mrs. Reckling had put together for her class.
We decided to take some time off from Gymnastics. All the kids love gymnastics but it was time for a break. I haven't decided if and when we'll start up again but it's been so fun for them to be in this year.
The month of May was such nice spring weather, my kids literally lived outside most the month playing with friends and neighbors.
Just so I don't forget how obsessed all my kids but especially Siena is with Perler beads. They make these non-stop.
Since we don't have immediate plans to finish our basement, we decided to fix up the little space under the stairs for the kids to play with. We cleaned it out, fixed a few holes and then let them choose what color to paint it...pink of course. We bought some cheap rugs from Ikea and ta-da, we have a little hideout/playroom. The kids have enjoyed it and like going down there to play. It's nice having something carpeted down there for them to use.
Soccer season came to an end. It was a great season that I already mentioned in my previous post. But had to add in the team picture here.
My Barlow cousins were all in town one weekend so we went over and got to see them. It was fun catching up and spending an afternoon together. I love this picture of my mom and Aunt Joan laughing as they always do.
I'm not sure how much longer Shane will be able to do this, but the kids get so excited when dad lets them all climb on his back.
